A better day in every respect with a lot of sunshine and a lot of trains on the Rechte Rheinstrecke. There were still some quite long gaps between freights at times. In contrast to the previous two days, there was a lot less freight traffic on the left bank.
It got seriously cloudy about 15:00 and I almost gave up for the day several times but always decided to wait a little longer to see if the cloud broke. It did around 17:40 and for the next hour there was some glorious light but no northbound trains. Eventually a black Dispo 189 passed a minute or so before the light faded for good. I’d have preferred a red engine but a black one would have have to do.
