Another good day with seven freights photographed, all in sun, although two of them were only just in the light. There were also another two freights going the wrong way at the wrong time that got away. Add in three ALEX workings in sun as well and it has to be one of the best days of the trip (and probably the last decent day judging by the weather forecasts).

Once again, the Zwickau freight due through Pegnitztal around 10:30 failed to show but the other trains ran when they were expected. It’s refreshing to find an area where the freights run as planned and to time as it removes much of the uncertainty about where to go and when and makes it worth putting the effort in.
