Henceforth known as Almost Day on account of the number of shots that were almost in sun but missed good light by less than a minute. Today’s 181 on the Stuttgart - Zürich ICs was 181.212, which successfully avoided passing in the sun. 120.140 was more co-operative, as were a couple of 146 worked REs.

The bulk of the Stuttgart - Zürich service is 101 worked on a Saturday so it wasn’t difficult to tear myself away to try a few shots of the 218 working to Neustadt (Schwarzw) and back. Surprisingly, both shots on the impressive Gutachbrücke, a few km short of Neustadt, were in good light as it had been pitch black and raining a few minutes before.
