The forecast for the Oberengadin was good again and with two of the three Pontresina – Scuol-Tarasp turns booked for Ge4/4i haulage, it seemed a good place to go. Unfortunately there was a lot of unforecast cloud around from the start. There were some breaks but they tended to grow whenever I considered going somewhere else then filled in when there was a train around. Despite the cloud, I did manage four shots in sun including my only afternoon shot of the trip so far, at 12:03. The rest of the afternoon was as hopeless as always and I returned to Filisur early yet again. Locomotive highlights were 603 and 604 on the Pontresina – Scuol-Tarasp trains, 609 leaving Samedan to work the Bergün – Preda shuttles, 707 working freights 5115 and 5140 and 601 shunting at Samedan after working RE1125.
