A very poor morning, with the fog only clearing around midday, followed by another gloriously sunny afternoon. The whole day was spent in the Aulendorf area, most of it around Durlesbach, between Aulendorf and Mochenwangen.
Traction wise, passenger trains were very much as expected with 218s on all the Ulm - Lindau trains including those that originated at Stuttgart, 611s on all the Ulm - Basels, currently only running as far as Schaffhausen, and 650s on the Aulendorf - Friedrichshafen locals. IC118 and IC119 were worked by pairs of 218s as expected but northbound IC118 was almost three hours late.
Two freights were seen, a 294 worked south with a train of vans shortly after 09:00, returning at 10:30. This looked like the Baienfurt trip that used to be a 225 until fairly recently and does some street running at the Baienfurt end of the branch from Niederbiegen. The other freight was the regular stone train from Roßberg to Friedrichshafen, around the 20th Ludmilla hauled train I’ve attempted to photograph this trip and, like the rest, not in sun.
