A better day weather wise with some good sunny breaks between the showers. The whole day was spent in the Pechbrunn / Wiesau area.
Unfortunately the cloud controller knew the timetable and timed the sunshine for the gaps between trains. Luckily 294.599 spoilt her cunning plan by running over an hour early with the afternoon trip to Wiesau and managed to sneak through during a sunny break. Apart from a single DMU it was the only train that was properly lit all day.
All the passengers seen were as expected and so were most of the freights. The main exceptions were a couple of extra northbounds in the late morning when the light would have been difficult for anything in that direction, had there been any. I’m sure the empty car carriers is a scheduled once a week working from Zeebrugge to Kolin and can recall seeing it in April, however it doesn’t appear in the timetable I’ve got this time. The 213 took me completely by surprise and although I got the number I didn’t get a proper look at it. It appeared to be in a red livery but not DB. The train it brought north appeared to form the load that the 294 took back south to Wiesau in the afternoon.
