Superpower
The 20th Class Garratts were impressive machines by any standards, not particularly fast but with phenomenal pulling power, ideally suited to hauling heavy freights on the north line out of Bulawayo. 734 stood under the watering gantry at the south end of Sawmills station with train 27, the 00:55 freight from Thomson Jn to Mpopoma, on the morning of 29 June 1987.
