Going Downhill
In 2011 class 612 DMUs were relatively uncommon on the Hersbruck - Schwandorf line, with class 610s working the vast majority of regional services. Two years later the 610s had gone and 612s were firmly in charge.612.486 rolled down the bank at Lehendorf, west of Etzelwang, with RE3596, the 15:09 from Schwandorf to Nürnberg, on 12 September 2011.
