A Narrow Escape
After winding it's way up the narrow, twisting valley of the Carron Water from Stonehaven, 70816 approached the top of the climb, just south of Carmont, on the afternoon of 10 August 2022. 6R86, the 14:05 clay tanks from Aberdeen Waterloo to Irvine, had narrowly escaped being wiped out by a class 170 DMU going in the opposite direction.
