A Sad End
SY.0387 met its end behind the depot at Yijing on the Beipiao system on 6 December 2010, 39 years after emerging from Tangshan Works and 2 years after being taken out of service. LIke so many industrial steam locomotives in China, it was the decline of the coal industry rather than dieselisation that sealed its fate.
