Good Riddance
The first of GWR's Class 769 tri-mode units approached Wokingham running as 5Q11 on 25 June 2021. This 13:32 Reading - Redhill - Reading test run was a rare outing for 769943 and the only time I managed to photograph one of these ill-fated units in anything like good light. The GWR units never entered service and rarely seemed to leave the depot for test runs. Probably just as well as they were chronically underpowered when in diesel mode compared to the Class 165s they were due to replace.
