Second Visit
73961, with 73965 on the rear, was ready to leave Reading with 1Q54, the 12:46 test train from Eastleigh to Tonbridge via various lines in the Guildford, Reading and Staines areas. This was the EDs' second visit to Reading that evening, having arrived from Guildford earlier then travelled to Staines and back. They would now return to Guildford to cover the Pirbright Junction to Alton line before heading to Tonbridge.
