Southern Outpost
73965 arrived at Reading's Platform 4 with test train 1Q54 on 15 April 2021. 73961 was at the other end of the 12:46 from Eastleigh to Tonbridge via most of the South Western outer suburban network. Platform 4 was added during the rebuilding of Reading station in the early 2010s and, like Platforms 5 and 6, is electrified at 750V DC and only accessible from the former Southern Region lines from Staines and Guildford via Wokingham.
