Better Late Than Never
Despite continuing rumours of their imminent demise, DRS Class 68s continued to work a number of services for Chiltern Trains through the summer of 2023. 68012 passed Kings Sutton with 1J49 on 15 June 2023. A signalling failure south of Banbury caused severe delays on that date and by the time things got moving again the 17:07 from Marylebone to Stourbridge Junction was almost an hour behind time.
