47.840 was was repainted into BR blue for its last few months on cross country services before Voyagers took over. The displaced Class 47s had a final fling on diverted WCML services in August 2003.
The blue beast is seen here at Washwood Heath, working 1A32, the 10:19 Wolverhampton to Euston service, diverted via Nuneaton on 3 August 2003.
