An unidentified loco crossed the viaduct over the Rio Sil, south of Santa Marina, with a loaded coal train on 31 December 1980. The bridge dates from the relocation of the line in 1960 when the Barcena Dam was built, flooding the valley. The original bridge, dating from the line's construction in 1919, can just be made out at the bottom of the image. Sadly your photographer didn't have the presence of mind to include all of it in the picture.
