From the December 2006 timetable change, local passenger services in the Kassel area were taken over by "Cantus", a joint venture between the Hamburger Hochbahn and the Hessiche Landesbahn, using brand new class 427 and 428 EMUs from Stadler.
Three class 427 3-car units passed Hermannspiegel on a test run to Fulda on 26 October 2006.
