Mallets on the Mountain
The semi-regular “Traditionzug” was running from Wernigerode to Brocken and back on Saturdays in February 2017 and on the 17th the power was a pair of Mallets with a combined age of 240 years.Jung built 0-4-4-0Ts 99.5901 and 99.5902 date back to the opening of the first section of the Nordhausen - Wernigerode Eisenbahn in 1897. The pair were photographed above Schierke on their way to the summit with a well loaded train in poor light.
