In The Open
The Selketalbahn follows the wooded valley of the Wellbach all the way from the outskirts of Gernrode to Sternhaus-Haferfeld before emerging from the trees and crossing open meadowland for a few hundred metres. 99.5906 was photographed on the open section with train 8955, the 15:02 from Gernrode to Alexisbad, on 10 October 2015.
