99.7247, seen at Wernigerode shed on the night of 2 February 2014, was the last of a series of 17 2-10-2Ts built for DR in the mid-1950s. The locos were based to a large extent on the pre-war 2-10-2Ts but with welded boilers, welded plate frames and the distinctive boxy feed water heater. All 17 engines are still in existence, either in use on the HSB or in store.
