Allgäu Express or ALEX was a joint venture between Bayerische Länderbahnen and SBB and held the contract to operate München - Oberstdorf regional expresses from the December 2003 timetable change until December 2007.On 15 July 2006, 253 014 hauled ALX86712, the 15:21 München to Oberstdorf, past Altstädten with 253 011 bringing up the rear.
