In the event of driving trailer shortages, RE services between Stuttgart and Singen can operate with a class 146 at each end. Don't ask me why they can't uncouple and run round these days but they don't. 146.207 led RE19042 down the bank towards Tuttlingen on 2 June 2012 with 146.221 bringing up the rear.
