Confusion Reigns

Confusion reigned for much of 1 May 2012 when two eastbound trains in a row failed to turn up. 754.039 had failed somewhere at the west end of the line, either on its way out with the 06:07 from Ceske Budejovice or the return 09:17 from Nove Udoli. It was eventually rescued by 754.022 which had worked the 08:07 train west and returned on Os8115/4 hauling three coaches, the dead 754.039 and three more coaches. The rescue operation delayed Os8115/4 by more than an hour and the knock on effects were still being felt by the end of the day. The formation was photographed east of Horice na Sumave, passing a field of bemused cows.
