Farewell RMs
Another view of Changchun depot showing RM 1183 in company with RM 1129 (left) and Jilin's QJ 7079 under the sand tower in March 1989. Within a year, the RMs had lost all their regular work around Changchun to QJs, displaced themselves by the arrival the first freight diesels in Shenyang bureau. By the beginning of 1991, many of the QJs had gone as well, swept aside by the tide of DF4s that swamped Manchuria's main lines in the early 1990s.
