Big Beast
Pingdingshan had several QJs on its roster but two seemed to be favorites and saw the lion's share of the action. QJ 2035 was the older of the pair, a 30 year veteran still looking and sounding good after most of its younger classmates had gone to the scrapper. Neither loco had smoke deflectors, a modification which gave them a very powerful appearance. QJ 2035 was photographed trundling through Tianzhuang yard light engine on 15 February 2004.
