Storming the Grade Again
SY 1013 had to make a third assault on the bank before it finally managed to get its train of sulphuric acid tanks into Gongsi Yard on the afternoon of 7 March 2008. This time the train was backed into a less steeply graded siding and then made a very vigorous start past our cameras.Sulphuric acid is a major by-product of the copper, zinc and lead refining processes and Baiyin produces it in significant quantities.
