Smoking
Marsden had been fogged in before midday and still wasn't completely clear when 45142 smoked past on 1E98, the 12:03 from Liverpool Lime St to Scarborough, at 13:18 on 17 April 1987.The loco was withdrawn a couple of months later after catching fire at Slaithwaite, a few miles to the east, while working a westbound train.
