Heavy Haul Rail
59101 approached Crofton Curve as it rolled down the bank from Savernake with 6A12 on 16 February 2026. This working was the 09:18 from Whatley Quarry to Appleford Sidings, north of Didcot.Freightliner's intermodal operations had been split away at the end of January 2026 and taken the Freightliner name with them, leaving the remaining parts of the business, including the Mendip stone workings, operating as Heavy Haul Rail. This was my first photo of an HHR train, a couple of weeks after the split and with the loco still carrying Freightliner branding .
