5-car IETs had taken over the Paddington - Bedwyn service earlier in 2019, replacing the Class 165 and 166 DMUs that had been the mainstay of the route for many years. 800.003 accelerated away from Newbury on diesel power with 1K14, the 13:06 from Paddington, on 23 August 2019. The use of 125mph trains these services seems a bit extravagant but I don't expect the burghers of Bedwyn, Kintbury or Hungerford were complaining.
