A Nice Surprise
Having gone out to get a picture of something else, it was a nice surprise to find that Colas had allocated 56049 and 56051 to 6C54, a 19:09 Toton North Yard to Hendon ballast. The train is seen here leaving Ashwell with 56049 leading at last light on 28 April 2026. There was a nail biting wait when it was looped at Melton Mowbray instead of going in at Langham Jn as booked but the train finally appeared at the very last minute for the light.
