Late Sleeper
The northbound sleeper is usually a good timekeeper but on 15 April 2023 it was running well over 3 hours late by the time it left Edinburgh, giving its passengers an unscheduled lie-in. 73969 was photographed on the climb out of Stonehaven with 1B16, the delayed 04:39 from Edinburgh to Aberdeen, at 10:25 that morning.
