The Class 93 Bo-Bo is a development of the earlier Class 88 in service with DRS. It is the first tri-mode design to enter service in Britain, a 5400hp 25kV AC electric, also equipped with a 1200hp diesel and a 540hp battery. Ten locos entered service with ROG in late 2025 but their intended use remains unclear.
