Göltzschtalbrücke
The builders of the Reichenbach - Hof line avoided long tunnels and steep gradients by sticking to the higher ground but were faced with bridging a number of deep valleys. The widest and deepest was the Göltzschtal, between Reichenbach and Netzschkau, where the civil engineers built a quadruple deck brick structure that was, at the time of building, the world’s tallest railway bridge and is still the world’s largest brick built bridge. An unidentified class 143 crossed the bridge with the 07:27 Hof - Dresden service, RE 4763, on the morning of 2 May 2016.
