45124 had just left the 3 mile long Standedge Tunnel, just out of sight around the bend on the left, and was about to begin the long descent through Huddersfield. The loco was on its way to Scarborough with 1E99, the 10:44 from Holyhead. 45124 was withdrawn after fire damage sustained in December the same year.
