Sectorisation
Although BR had been sectorised in 1982, it was several years before new liveries became commonplace. On my 1987 trip to Standedge most trains were formed largely or wholly of blue and grey coaches hauled by blue locos. The 10:03 from Liverpool to Scarborough was an exception in being formed of a complete rake of coaches in Provincial colours. 1E79 is seen here approaching Diggle behind InterCity liveried 47515 on 17 April that year.
