Peak District
45013 climbed away from Chinley towards Chinley North Junction with a train of stone empties on the morning of 29 May 1986. Peaks were no strangers to the former Midland Railway route through Chinley and had worked the Manchester - St Pancras expresses this way in earlier years but it was still a pleasant surprise to find one on a stone train.Despite its generally smart appearance 45013 remained in service for less than a year after this photo was taken, being withdrawn in April 1987. After several years in store at March it was cut up in 1994.
