Blackpool - Harwich
One of the more unusual workings over the Hope Valley in 1986 was the 07:20 from Blackpool North to Harwich Parkeston Quay, which could be seen as a forerunner of the current Liverpool - Norwich service. 47547 emerged from Cowburn Tunnel with 1E86 on 29 May of that year. The loco was one of many Class 47s based at Crewe at the time. It moved to the Western Region in 1988 and then to Network South East but was taken out of service in 1992. In 2003 it was sold to Fragonset and moved to Tyseley but was cut up in 2005.
