222004, one of only four 7-car members of the class, approached Melton Mowbray from the east with 5M17, an 08:43 ECS from St Pancras to Cricklewood via a fairly indirect route. The train, probably running for route learning purposes, was booked to run to Loughborough via Corby before returning by the same route. It actually turned round at Syston to regain a bit of time lost on the outward journey.
