First Outing
The Britannic Explorer coaching stock had been united with its designated locos, 66744 and 66745 at Eastleigh Works and made its way to London for the first time on the morning of Friday 13 June 2025. 5Z65, the 09:43 from Eastleigh Works to Stewarts Lane, is seen here approaching Pirbright Junction behind 66745.That afternoon's planned first trip in service from Victoria to the Lake District was cancelled due to a problem with the stock and the whole train returned to Eastleigh the following day.
