Livery Changes
43030 and 43003 powered 1A37, the 10:10 from Bristol T.M. to Paddington, away from Didcot on 7 November 2003. Both power cars were later transferred to ScotRail where 43030 had the misfortune to be involved in the Carmont derailment and was later scrapped. 43003 continues in service, now the lowest numbered power car still in traffic. It was difficult to keep up with the livery changes made to first Great Western HSTs between 1996 and 2007. No sooner had the fleet been painted in one scheme than another was introduced. The paint was barely dry on the green white and gold colours when a new dark blue and gold was introduced, as can be seen on the 4th coach here.
