Coal Drag
QJ 397 entered the cutting at Nancha summit with a loaded coal train on 5 April 1988. The banker, QJ 283 was out of sight around the curve. Coal heading north to the towns and industries along the line provided the railway with a significant amount of traffic, although much of it was probably consumed by the locos that worked the branch.
