Foreign Visitor
CFM 960 took water at Sawmills on 29 June 1987 after arriving on its first test run following refurbishment at ZECO in Bulawayo. The CFM staff in attendance seemed pleased with the condition of the loco, despite a few minor teething problems, and told us that steam was still quite active in Mocambique. They also expressed surprise that more railway enthusiasts didn't visit the country. Unfortunately there was a civil war going on and gricers weren't very welcome.
