Early Finish
1Q19, the 18:34 Taunton to Paddington test train had arrived at Reading 75 minutes early on the evening of 7 February 2025 but then terminated as there was congestion towards London. 37057 top'n'tailing with 37610 then set off for Derby, running as 1Z21, officially the 20:26 from Reading but actually departing at 19:05. The pair can be seen here leaving Reading in the pouring rain. These workings are usually operated by the NMT so it was a pleasant surprise when a pair of 37s were allocated instead of the usual HST set.
