Unusual Origin
66040 is one of a dwindling number of Class 66s to carry EWS's maroon and gold colours, albeit with a DB sticker on the cabside. It still looked quite smart when it passed Worting Junction with 4M54, the 09:31 Southampton MCT to East Midlands Gateway intermodal, on 13 August 2024. It's unusual for a DB operated train to use Freightliner's Maritime Container Terminal but 4M54 is booked to do so.
