The Class 69s based at Leicester seem to be particularly well cared for and are usually immaculate. 69009 was certainly gleaming when it passed Woking St Johns with 5X64, an 11:30 unit drag from Wembley Yard to Southampton Central, on 13 August 2024. The unit, 458409, was en-route from Widnes to Bournemouth T&RSMD, after refurbishment and shortening from 5 to 4 cars.
