Transformation
69009 was no stranger to the SWML, having spent much of the winter on the Eastleigh - Hoo and Mountfield - Southampton workings, but that was when it was running around in grubby green undercoat. Now transformed by a shiny coat of maroon paint, the loco returned on 30 July 2024, passing Worting Junction with refurbished 458410, on its way from Alstom's works at Widnes to Bournemouth T&RSMD.
