The second batch of Class 455 EMUs incorporated a modified cab roof design and a trailer vehicle from the Class 508 units they displaced. 5739 (455.739) worked the 12:47 from Waterloo to Shepperton west from Wimbledon on 30 August 1990. The neater rounded cab roof and lower profile Class 508 trailer (3rd vehicle) that identify it as being from the second batch, as does the 57xx series number.
