Crompton at Reading
33012 and the 4TC set had a busy weekend at the end of July 2024 with a trip from Basingstoke to Lydney via south London on the Saturday and from Fenchurch St to Harwich, Ipswich, Clacton and Walton on the Sunday. The Crompton is pictured here passing through Reading on its way back to Eastleigh late on the evening of Sunday 28 July, running as 5Z38, the 20:14 ECS from Fenchurch St. 66793 was out of sight at the back of the train, hidden behind 221140 and 220028, waiting to follow the 33 to Eastleigh as 5O89.
