Large Logo

The original BR blue livery was a bit plain but the application of more yellow paint and large "double arrow" logos transformed it into a classic. To mark the end of loco hauled cross country services, Virgin repainted several class 47s in earlier liveries. 47 847 in large logo blue was used by Freightliner after Virgin had finished with it. The loco is seen here at Purley on Thames, west of Tilehurst, working 6M16, a Southampton to Crewe car train, on 14 August 2003.
