South West Trains were the first of the privatised rail operators to procure a fleet of new trains, Class 458 EMUs based on Alstom's Juniper design. They were extremely unreliable for the first few years and came very close to being sent back to the builders.
458.016 and 458.013 were photographed slowing for the Wokingham stop with the 15:42 from Reading to Waterloo on 6 August 2003.
